Influenza (Flu)

A man is sick with the flu and blowing his nose

It's time to get your flu shot. Veterans enrolled in VA health care can get a free flu shot at:

  • VA health care facilities
  • Community retail pharmacies and urgent care providers (in VA’s network)

Find a facility near you and call before you visit to be sure flu vaccine is available.

Flu – short for influenza – is a respiratory illness that spreads easily from person to person.

Flu vaccination is your best protection against the flu, which usually begins in the fall and can continue through late spring. Everyone age 6 months and older should get the vaccine.
